Mentastics Are Fantastic!~

It has been over a month since I taught the 3 day Mentastics class in my home. Time keeps marching on! We had a great time, learning self care techniques and how to do less in general. We enjoyed the homey, comfortable setting, walked during the lunch break and finding greater awareness of ourselves in movement: over logs, on slopes, feeling the different surfaces…. However, per the picture below, we did not do any bed jumping! But that could be really fun for the next class!

Here are some student descriptions of what a Mentastic is:

Feeling warmth, light movement, being comfortable, freer and lighter.

Individually, from their own experience:

Awareness of the movement of the body that allows a more relaxed and free sense of self-movement, freeing energy

There is no right or wrong definition:

A way to move effortlessly, joyously living in the moment, feeling my body as it is right now, finding the wobble and pass it on, slushing, oozing, jiggling, kicking, dancing all the way whenever I am going or staying.

With each one, there is a wide range of language coming from personal experience:

Body movement and awareness of one’s self being free, at ease and alive in every cell of my body. Opening to the possibility of freedom to living life more fully!

Dr. Milton Trager used movement called Mentastics (mental gymnastics) as a way to agelessness. Using these soft, in the moment, playful and free movements is life changing. Body awareness is needed, but also a willingness to respond. Watch for upcoming classes in 2020 at the Reiki Center on 5th Ave, Parkview Wellness Studios on East Broad and other venues around town beginning in January.

Happy Holydays!
