Riding The Tide...
How to stay cool in the summer...swimming! I just returned from Cape Cod for 2 weeks. It was a real treat! The National Seashore is beautiful and clean, the bay a bit warmer, and the 326 fresh water ponds, many free and accessible, kept me busy and relaxed at the same time! Steve and I sailed and kayaked which provided a different type of water experience, so peaceful. One of my best memories was riding the tide back in after a late afternoon sail. I had never felt the push of the tide...
Coming home to Columbus, I seek the water! The pools provide the water fun. Even though the environment isn't the same, the effect is.
Upper Arlington pools are $5 a day during the week and $7 on the weekend. After 7 pm any night of the week it is only $3. My favorite outdoor pool is the Tremont pool which isn't heated. The ocean was 68 degrees, so I tend to avoid heated pools. It is a fresher experience, with less chemicals and bacteria...Lap lanes are usually available, and most of the kid craziness is diverted to the pool at Reed Rd which is a water park for $10 a day.
I recently celebrated my birthday with 6 friends playing Marco Polo in the pool at Tremont. It was a Fri eve, and we had it mostly to ourselves...thanks to my friends for helping me celebrate!
Let me know if you need more details about swimming opportunities...See you there!
